How to Check an Animal Charity Before Donating

Practical checks for verifying pet-rescue campaigns and official donation links.

Confirm the organization

Look for an official website, registered name, credible contact details and public reports describing its activities. Registered charity status and disclosure rules differ by jurisdiction, so use the relevant government register when available.

Check the destination

Before paying, confirm that the donation page belongs to the organization or its approved payment provider. Prefer secure HTTPS websites and avoid payment requests routed to unrelated personal accounts.

Look for specific programs

Clear fundraising pages explain what the money supports, how progress will be reported and whether gifts are restricted to one purpose. Small community rescue groups may have limited resources, so evaluate evidence thoughtfully rather than relying only on professional-looking design.

Understand tax receipts

Do not assume a donation is tax deductible in your country. Different countries have different rules for registered charities, eligibility and receipts. Ask the organization for a receipt and consult local tax guidance as needed.

Protect yourself from urgency tactics

A genuine rescue appeal can be urgent, but strong emotional images alone do not establish legitimacy. Verify the organization and official payment link before giving.

How PawNara Give works

PawNara Give is designed to list organizations after independent checks. We do not currently take donations ourselves; links lead directly to verified official charity pages after review.
